Happy Halloween everyone! Bryant had a fun "Halloween" this year. We decided that he was still kind of young to go Trick or Treating, so we passed on that. Although it was a little tempting thinking about all the candy I could get and eat myself! ;) However, we did take Bryant to his first Fall Festival. It was so much fun! It was held at the church I go to for MOPS, First Baptist Church Pelham. They had all sorts of activities. They had about 6 different inflatables, tons of games, and lots of food. Bryant got to play a few of the games that were for the preschool age kids. He did so good! He also got to have his first experience in a bouncy inflatable. I would say he is still a little young, but he enjoyed it. Every time he was able to stand up though he immediately fell back down. So really he would just migrate to the wall and watch the other kids bounce. He had a huge smile on his face the whole time! Then we…and by we I mean me…got some popcorn, fresh corn on the cob, and hotdogs!! :) Lastly, I have to share that Bryant really may have been the cutest kid there. You would not believe how many people commented to us about how adorable he looked. And we also had so many people that were like "Oh my goodness, look at the elephant. That is so cute!" And yes, it was!!!
My little elephant!
Of course he had to play on the playground.
Playing a game at the festival! He put the animals into the ark!
I realize that it has been a week and a half since I have posted, and I do apologize. I guess I have just been a little lazy. Oh, and pregnancy and sinus troubles have played a part too! Anyway, we have not been too exciting here. We have pretty much been living the norm. Hanging out, going to the park, and a few "special" events. One special thing we did was go to Josh's softball game. Josh plays on his work softball team, and they have games on Wednesdays. Well they finally had the early game, 6:30, so we went to support him. They lost, but Bryant still had fun! Below are some pictures.
On the field with daddy pregame.
Practicing his wind up
He had a blast throwing the ball and running to get it.
Eating his yummy dinner I packed while watching the ballgame!
Another out of the norm thing we did was have dinner with our friends Brian & Julia. They have a little boy, Paul, that is 7 weeks older than Bryant. They also have a 4 month old, Walker. We don't get together with them near as often as we would all like, but when we do it is lots of fun…especially for the boys! They are so cute to watch, and since they are SO close in age, they are at the exact same stage. Below are a few pictures from our night, and one SUPER CUTE video that you just have to watch!
Waiting to greet our friends
The boys eating their supper
Bryant of course had to give Walker some attention too.
Playing in the shower curtain
They were being hilarious.
Here is the video of them playing. It is one of the cutest things ever!!!
Like I said, otherwise it has been the norm. Below are some more pictures of Bryant, a few at home and then a few from lunch at Cracker Barrel.
Always holding the follow through of his swing
Cutie pie watching tv
He had lots of fun in the rocking chairs while we waited.
Doesn't the hat look great on him? :)
He REALLY enjoyed my blueberry pancakes I shared with him!!
We had a great week last week. Jama, Josh's mom, was here until Friday. We just hung out and went to the park and stuff like that. Bryant had a blast!! And I think Jama enjoyed it too. :) I also thoroughly enjoyed it. I had an adult to talk to during the day, and I had someone to help me. I definitely got to rest a little more, and it was wonderful! It was especially helpful since Bryant ended up at the doctor with an ear and sinus infections. And then I ended up at the doctor with a sinus infection too! So, needless to say, we weren't feeling the best, so Jama was great in helping take care of us. Below are a couple of pictures from the week and a super cute video of Bryant working on his letters with Jama and head banging.
Playing his letters game!
He loves his dump truck that Jama got him
Waiting on daddy at the mall. I think Jama was introducing him to angry birds.
He saw a little girl playing with the rocks and dirt and decided it would be fun to join her!
I think Bryant is SO cute in this video!
After Jama left we had a pretty eventful weekend. On Friday night Josh took Bryant with him to his first high school football game. They went and watched Mountain Brook play. Josh has a friend who's son plays for Mountain Brook, so they hung out with him. I honestly wasn't sure how it was going to go, but apparently Bryant stood on this bench and watched the football game almost the whole time. Josh said he LOVED it!!
His first high school football game!
Then on Saturday Josh took Bryant to play golf with him and Thomas. I think once again Bryant had a great time. The only bad part was that he fell when they first got there and scraped his head open. When they got home and walked in the door, I was immediately like "What Happened!?!?!" See, Josh merely wiped Bryant's head off with a dry towel. Seriously..?? I then had to clean it up with soap and water and put medicine on it. The good thing is that Bryant apparently cried for like two seconds and then was over it!
You can see his poor scraped up head. And this is after I cleaned it up!
Loves his ritz crackers :) And his new Alabama shirt from Jama.
On Sunday we went with some friends to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Pumpkin Patch in Calera. It was a lot of fun! You ride a real train out to this pumpkin patch area that they have set up. The boys really enjoyed the train ride. And they also had a blast with all of the pumpkins. They kept trying to pick them up. However, I have to say that I think Bryant's favorite part was playing in the sandbox. He loved it. One day when we have a good backyard we will have to put a sandbox in it! Below are some pictures from our fun trip!
On the train
My Family :)
He stood up and held onto the rails the entire train ride
"I'll take this pumpkin!"
They both were so funny with trying to pick up every pumpkin!
My attempt at getting a picture of him in front of the BIG pumpkin. Unsuccessful.
LOVED the sandbox!
Due to riding the very uneventful hayride (my mistake), we were some of the last people to board the train on the way back and got stuck sitting inside. The boys did not like it near as much. :(
As the title clearly gives away, Josh and I are expecting another baby!! I am currently 10 weeks pregnant, and the expected due date is May 7, 2013. Just like Bryant, this baby was a surprise gift to us. (Warning women: when you are weaning your baby/toddler, you may want to be careful! :) ) However, we have slowly adjusted and gotten excited about our family growing from 3 to 4! I know it will also be fun for Bryant to have a sibling close in age. They will be right at 27 months apart. Once again, I am good with a boy or girl, although I sure do love my little boy. However, Josh is insistent that it be a boy…so watch it be a girl. Ha! This 1st trimester has been a lot like my 1st trimester with Bryant, kinda stinky. :( I tell you what, there is nothing I hate more than being nauseous all the time, and especially throwing up! But, I look at Bryant and remind myself that it is all worth it. One difference I've noticed with this pregnancy is that I already don't sleep good at night. I have multiple crazy dreams every night. It is insane, and only adds to the complete exhaustion I already feel. Other than that it's just the normal bloatedness, acne like I'm going through puberty again, and emotional rollercoasters. I will say this, and I truly think Josh would agree, I haven't been near as emotional this time around. So…go me! ;) Despite all of this, the light at the end of the tunnel is hopefully only a couple of weeks away. Bring on the "decent" 2nd trimester! Anyway, that's our exciting news!!! Now that it's out there, I'll be sure to keep everyone updated on Baby #2 also!
We have had a pretty busy week. We had playschool, MOPS, bible study, a playdate, Jama got here, and today is Josh's birthday! It has been fun, but tiring. First I have to share briefly about our playdate because it was so much fun. We went over to my friend Jennifer's house to play with her little boy Lee Griffin. Lee Griffin is about 4 1/2 months older than Bryant. The boys had a BLAST playing! And we walked them over to see some live horses. You could tell Lee Griffin was a pro because he would feed them carrots. My child on the other hand was a little skiddish. He loved watching the big horses, but he wanted me to hold him and not let the horses get too close. Despite that reaction, I think he really liked seeing them! Anyway, like I mentioned, Jama (Josh's mom) is here, she got here yesterday. She went to see Josh's twin brother, Jon, in Jacksonville on Friday for their birthday, and then headed over here on Saturday. We have already had lots of fun! Although once this week is over I'm sure I will have lots more stuff to share about Jama's visit. Now to Josh's birthday! Last year I was such a good wife and threw Josh a surprise birthday party and got him a round of golf as a present. Well, this year I was an even better wife…wait, no I wasn't. ;) This year there was no party, but I did totally ask him today what he wanted me to get him for his birthday!! I mean, that should count for something. Oh, and thank goodness his mom came, because she got him his annual Great American Cookie Company cookie cake! If she hadn't been sweet enough to do that, Josh would have been getting a homemade cookie cake. Hey, it's the thought that counts! :) Anyway, that's what's been going on this week. Below are a few pictures… Unfortunately I did not think to take any on our playdate Friday…oh well!
He is seriously such a beautiful little boy!
And a silly little boy! He was so proud because he climbed up into the chair all by himself...
And it's actually a hard, and dangerous, chair to climb!
Sweet boy had disappeared into his room, and this is what I found.
