The Sunshine has Returned!!

I mean this both figuratively and literally.  First off, Bryant is SO much better.  It is great to see him back to his normal self feeling good.  Also, it is so nice to see the sun outside the window again.  I think it rained for about 3 weeks straight here in Birmingham, and it was depressing!  But thanks to sunshiny weather, and a well little boy, we have gotten to do lots of fun things this past week.  We have been to the park several times, we met some friends at the McWane Center on Friday, and yesterday we went to the Zoo with some friends.  It's been a blast!  Below are some pictures from the past week.

Bryant likes to run from me and hide under the table….
He always comes out eventually though… ;)
 Silly boy!
Sam did NOT like when Josh put him in Bryant's crib!
 Digging with friends for fossils.
 Playing in Clifford's dog bowl!
 Such a good little artist.
 Giraffes are his favorite.
 He loves them :)
Bryant and Paul checking out the hogs.
 ROAR!!
 Playing the drums!
The zoo wore him out. :)

Until next time…

One. Sick. Kiddo.

What a week it has been!  As I mentioned in my post on Tuesday, Bryant had been sick.  At that point he had thrown up a lot on Monday afternoon and night.  Well, I believe when I posted Tuesday that I was hopeful that he was on the mend…unfortunately, not so much.  He never threw up again, but on Wednesday morning he woke up screaming and pointing to his ear.  Then he would take my hand, point to his ear with it and say "ear, ear".  So…I made a doctor's appt for him that morning and took him in to find out that yes, he did have an ear infection in that ear.  Well, by the time we got home something else lovely had joined us, diarrhea (I know TMI!)  Bryant remained extremely sick with that for days…I'm talking about BAD!  Due to the lack of fluid he was intaking (He didn't want to eat or drink anything pretty much all week), and the amount that was leaving him through the tummy troubles, we ended up having to take him to Children's hospital on Friday afternoon.  His pediatrician said that since he had had at least a dozen dirty diapers a day for over two days, and no wet diaper all day Friday, he was probably dehydrated.  Therefore she told us we needed to take him to Children's so they could give him IV fluids.  Although I was reluctant, I wanted to make sure I did what was best for Bryant, because apparently dehydration in young kids is a huge deal.  So Josh and I got to have our first, and hopefully last, experience taking our a kiddo to the ER.  Let me just stop and say how very thankful I am to all of my wonderful MOPS friends who prayed for Bryant all day Friday, I truly believe it made a difference.  We got great news by the ER doctor, Bryant was only mild-moderately dehydrated.  Therefore, we got to opt to stay there and force liquids through a syringe for awhile instead of IV.  He then had his first wet diaper, and we got to go home!  Since then he has still had tummy issues, but they have become fewer and farther between, and today he is seeming almost normal!  As for me, I'm exhausted!  Taking care of a sick child for a week has worn me out…thank goodness he is almost completely well!  Despite the sickness, I did manage to get a few cute pictures of the little guy.  He's so precious. :)

I hated to wake him up to take him into the doctor's office.
Watching Tiger Woods from his car.
Success in getting him to eat a little…probably because he got to sit in daddy's chair!
And who wouldn't eat half of a banana if they got to eat it sitting on the counter!
It Snowed!!!  Too bad he was too sick to play in it. :(
 Snow in Alabama!
In our room at Children's hospital
Thank goodness for "Monkey Game"! :)

Until next time…

Friends, Outings, & Sickness!

We all had a really great weekend!  On Friday, Bryant and I visited the McWane Center again.  It has been raining here in Birmingham pretty much all month, so we needed a fun, energized outing.  Bryant had just as much fun this time as he did the first time.  I LOVE having this membership!  Below are a couple of pictures I took of him.

 Playing basketball!
 Obsessed with the fish!
Digging for fossils :)

On Friday night we had three other families come over to grill out.  I know the three girls from my MOPS group, and we all get along great and knew our husbands would too, so we finally made it work to get together.  It was SO much fun!  The adults got to hang out and chat and all 7 of the kids (all 5 and under) had fun playing and going crazy!?!  We are going to be getting together for dinner every month with the families, and I am excited about it.  I meant to take a few pictures of all of the kids playing but forgot.  Oh well!  Then on Saturday it actually didn't rain, so Josh and a few buddies went to play 9 holes of golf.  Josh got his golf clubs out to put in the truck, and Bryant saw them and said "Daddy golf?".  I told him that yes, daddy was going to play golf.  At that point he was quite persistent in his meltdown to go with him, so…Bryant ended up getting to go play golf too!  I think they both had fun.  On Sunday we went over to our friends Lauren & Justin's to hang out and eat dinner. That was a great time too!  So, as you can see, we really did have a great weekend!  Unfortunately, then Monday came around.  On Monday afternoon Bryant suddenly started throwing up. :(  It was AWFUL!  He ended up throwing up almost 20 times.  It was definitely the most pitiful thing ever.  For 2 hours straight he just laid lethargically in my lap and sat up to throw up every 10 minutes or so.   Thank goodness he is some better today.  Although he's not his perky self, who would be, and he hasn't really eaten anything, he has at least not thrown up anymore today.  The bad news, I swear this pregnancy nose still smells the vomit.  I was up until all hours cleaning carpets and couches and mopping bathrooms and the kitchen and doing laundry. It was a mess!!  Ahhh…parenthood! :)  Anyway, below are a few more pictures of the little man from the past week.

He would not let this loaf of bread go in the store or on the way home.  Needless to say the bread slices are a little mashed up.
 Playing golf and watching golf…always!
Looks like such a big kid in this picture!
Cheering for the golfer who just got it in the hole.
All this rain's got nothing on him and his frog jacket :)

Until next time…

23 Months Old!!

I can't believe my baby boy is so close to turning two.  It is unbelievable how fast time has gone, yet how I don't remember life before him.  Anyway, I am going to refrain and save the tearful, sappy post for when he actually turns two. ;)  In the meantime I am having a ball with my ONE year old!!  He is just learning and absorbing stuff everyday, and it is such fun to watch.  He has been obsessed with numbers and counting for a while now, but I was finally able to get him to count on video.  Prepare to see and hear the CUTEST counting of 1-10 ever below!  He counts it twice! :) (FYI…the video is fuzzy for some reason…but the audio is clear!)

Bryant is having such a good time playing with all of his new stuff from Christmas.  If I had to pick his favorite thing, it would be his new art desk/easel.  He runs over to it several times a day and just starts coloring.  He already loved to color, but this has made it so much easier for him to do by himself whenever he wants!  He is also enjoying playing with his legos, play-doh, puzzles, books, golf, baseball, tools, and everything else!  Oh, and he really loves his new basketball bath toy.  He trys to climb in the bath tub throughout the day to play with it.  It's funny!  Anyway, below are some pictures of him this past week!

Working on his artistic side! :)
Eating a peanut butter sandwich for the first time.  Praise the Lord he has no allergy to it!!
 YUMMY!!! :)
 Loves his monkey game.
LOVES playing in bubbles. He was jumping around in them saying "Pop, Pop,…it's crazy!"
Watching golf on daddy's iPad.  Josh has now taught him how to ask to watch Tiger Woods...
Working on his golf swing, as always.
 Loves his puzzles!
I told him to smile…this is what I got!

Until next time…

Christmas Fun!!

We had a wonderful Christmas holiday!!  We started our fun travels with a trip to Opelika.  Bryant and I went down the Thursday before Christmas, and Josh joined us down there on Saturday.  My ENTIRE family was there!!  I seriously can not write in words what a great time I had.  As most of you know, I have 3 sisters, and they live in Connecticut, North Carolina, and Colorado!  Therefore, we are rarely all together.  So it was truly a blast!!  We stayed in Opelika through lunchtime on Christmas day, then we headed to Bainbridge.  In Bainbridge we just hung out with family and friends.  It was also fun!  We left Bainbridge on Friday and went to Valdosta to meet up with Josh's dad for a little bit.  Although we missed out on getting to see Josh's brother and sister, we had a great time with the family we did get to see!  I of course took a TON of pictures documenting all of the good times.  This post may include the most pictures of any post ever, but in my defense, I narrowed it down significantly to just get to these, so ENJOY!! :)
