This blog post should have been written a week ago, but for some reason I just have not felt like writing it. But I figure the saying "better late than never" applies here. ;) A few weeks ago Josh and I got to take a KIDLESS trip to New Orleans! He won the trip through work, so we were there with about 10 other couples. It was such a fun time. We stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in the French Quarter, which was wonderful! And we got to eat amazing food, have a little fun in the casino (well…losing money wasn't fun), and just enjoy the area. Another special treat while we were there was that our good friend Leanne who moved home to Baton Rouge several years ago came down with her husband for the afternoon on Saturday to hang out. It was so good to see them!! It was such a nice time…although I admit, I did miss the kiddos a little. 3 nights was the longest I'd ever been away from them! We left New Orleans on Sunday and went straight to the beach for the week. My parents had already taken the kids down with them on Saturday, and my ENTIRE family was there! We had the best time. It was the first time I'd gotten to meet my new niece Nora, who was born in January. And as always, it was so good to hang out with everyone. We did a lot of beachin, swimmin, eatin, and hangin out! All of the cousins had so much fun playing too. And the house we stayed at was perfect. It was right across the street from the beach, which made things so easy, and it had a pool! The only negative part was that Josh only got to stay a couple of days. He had to leave on Tuesday to get back to work. :( But oh well, I get to see him all the time. ;) Both trips were so much fun, but I have to admit, after being gone for that long, both the kids and I were happy to get home. This past week at home has just been the norm. We've hung out with friends a good bit, had some t-ball games, and done regular things around the house. Pretty boring. :) Below are lots of pictures from our beach trip!
The girls :)
We spent every morning out here since my kids kept waking up at the crack of dawn!
After supper sandcastle building!
Uncle Shawn really knows how to throw!
Alligators aren't so scary...
She is such a climber…all the time!
She liked the pool…but she wanted to be able to climb in and out at her own will…of course. :/
Taylor was not a big fan of the sand.
Bryant LOVED the sand and building sandcastles.
Taylor loved the ocean. But she kept wanting to walk out in it…by herself…not cool.
Throwing the football on the beach = Fun. However, Bryant had the most fun playing bocce ball. He played every day, by himself a lot!
Laying under the tent and chillin. :)
Haha…he wanted to wear Tyler's "sunglasses"…aka goggles.
Best Friends…according to Bryant. :)
We celebrated Wells' first birthday, so obviously we would clip balloons to his diaper!
The Whole Fam!! (minus Josh)
Cousins!
Me and my babies. :)
Until next time…
