G-Day and a Fractured Leg!

The past couple of weeks have consisted of some super fun stuff, and some super not fun stuff!  A couple of Saturdays ago was the G-Day game.  Man was it crazy!!  It is an awesome time to be a DAWG!  The stadium was packed out.  We were lucky to have reserved seats and a box we could go in when needed.  Josh's dad actually drove over to go with us to the game.  And I took all three of the kiddos!  I hope Thomas enjoyed it because that is probably going to be his only "game" for the year.  Another fun thing we've done is go to Rush.  My kids LOVE Rush.  They would seriously go every day if they could.  Then this past Saturday we had a birthday party.  It was lots of fun because there was a big bouncy house, lots of kids, and there was someone there doing Face Painting.  Bryant got a lion and Taylor got a butterfly.  It was fun!  Now for the not so fun stuff.  First, the night after the G-Day game I started feeling horrible.  Turns out I had Strep throat.  I don't even remember the last time I had that.  Maybe high school or college...but maybe not even then.  Let's just say it kicked my butt.  I really don't remember the last time I have felt so bad.  Thankfully I started antibiotics that Monday and was much better by Thursday.  During that time of me being sick, Thomas somehow hurt himself.  I have no idea how, but on Tuesday he just started limping.  And he would cry when I touched a certain part of his lower right leg.  Then on Wednesday he just got worse, and even started crawling again some.  So, I knew something must be wrong.  Turns out he somehow fractured his leg.  The fracture is actually down by or on the growth plate of the fibula.  I think.  The Orthopedic doctor was saying a lot...and I had three kids with me...but I'm pretty sure that's where it is.  So he's been in a cast since last week, and we go back to the Orthopedic again next Wednesday.  I pray that he will be completely healed then, and that it will have healed the proper way so as not to cause any future problems with the growth of that bone...which can apparently happen when the injury is on the growth plate.  Anyway, I'm sure it will be fine, but it is not much fun having him in a cast.  And I have definitely had some Dejavu!  Didn't one of my other children break their leg around this age...maybe on their first birthday... ;)  Anyway, that's about it!  Below are pictures.

Trip to North Carolina!

This past weekend we went up to North Carolina to visit my sister and her family.  We had such a great time!  We drove up on Thursday and stayed until after lunch on Sunday.  Her husband happened to be gone to a Men's Retreat Thursday-Sunday, so it was just me and my sis and the kiddos.  I don't know when that has happened.  It was so nice!  And the kids had a blast.  They played together nonstop, and what was even better is they didn't fight at all.  It was just so easy.  So now we have decided that we all just need to live on a cul de sac together.  And include my other two sisters and their families.  Wouldn't that be SO fun!!!  I doubt the husbands would be on board though... ;)  Anyway, below are some pictures from our trip!

Out to dinner the first night
Cutest turtle I ever did see.

Taylor and Addie wanted to be included in a picture too. :)

 Shooting some hoops!
 Riding bicycles
It was cold.  I had not brought the kids jackets.  I pulled what I thought was a sweater out of Addie's drawer to throw on Thomas.  This is what it was.  Hehehe!  It served the purpose of keeping him warm...and cute! ;)
Testing out Uncle Shawn's new hammock!
 It's very comfortable.
 Ice Cream treat!
Tried getting a picture that actually included Thomas.  This was the best I got. Ha!
Meal time is more fun with cousins!

Until next time...

UGA Vet School and UGA Football Scrimmage

We have had a really good week.  Last Friday was the annual UGA Vet School Open House.  So I decided I'd take the kiddos.  They had fun.  Not tons of fun, and not enough fun to make it worth going next year, but fun.  It was crazy crowded.  We really only did a couple of things there.  First, we went to the Teddy Bear Surgery Center.  That was super cute.  The kids picked a teddy bear, or in their case Monster Inc's Mike and a wiener dog, and got to do a Pre-Op checkup on them and then help with surgery.  The surgery part was just sewing up a tear.  The other thing we did was go see the large animals.  They had a cow, a few horses, a zebra, and a couple of camels.  So that was neat.  Also, we parked off campus and were bused to the Vet school.  So on the way they got to ride on one of the UGA buses.  They thought that was really fun!  On Saturday we went up to the stadium to watch UGA's practice scrimmage.  The kids had lots of fun there!  And it was an absolutely gorgeous day.  Other than that we are just enjoying the kid's spring break this week.  We have practically lived outside, been schedule less, and loved every minute of it!  And yesterday some friends came over to play with us for a while!  Below are some pictures from our adventures.

 Another golfer in the family?
