Taylor's First Solid Food!!

We have had a good week.  This past weekend was fun because Pops was in town.  He came up for some Continuing Education courses, and we got to hang out with him some on Saturday and Sunday.  Bryant always has SO much fun with Pops, so it was a treat.  On Sunday we had family pictures taken. This was the first time we have ever had them done, and I am so excited to see the results.   Julie did a great job and was more patient with the kids than I was.  Of course it's hard to get Taylor to look at the camera, but who knew it would be so difficult to get Bryant to actually look.  Oh well, I know she was able to get some good ones.  This week we have had play dates with friends two different days.  Like always, that was fun!  And also this week Bryant had his 2nd dentist appointment.  He did so good!  Unfortunately the dentist did say something about maybe trying to break him of the paci soon.  His bite is getting messed up from them.  Oh if he only knew how attached Bryant is…  My goal is to have it gone by the time he is three…which means I'll probably take it the day before his birthday. ;0) jk  And lastly, tonight I introduced Taylor to solid food!  I really didn't want to, but I figured she is 6 1/2 months old, so it was definitely time…if not past time.  I decided to bypass the rice cereal and just start with veggies/fruits.  So her first food was carrots!  She did pretty good the first several spoonfuls, but then she started gagging herself.  So I would say it was a success, but she probably got very little carrot in her actual tummy.  Anyway, that's all our excitement for now…below are lots of pictures. :)

Bryant getting a hair cut for our family pictures.
 She's just so darn cute!
 Pretty little thing.
 So silly :)
Breakfast on the table and a paci in each hand!
 Spending time with Pops!
 Silly boys!
Riding a scooter for the first time.  He loved it!
All the kids were eating lunch, so she wanted to eat something too!
Such a big boy at the dentist.
He got a sticker for doing so good, and he wanted it on his face. :)
 28 Weeks Old!
Ready to go for a walk with mommy!
Yummy homemade organic carrots!
She's waiting so patiently for her food.
Her first bite…she's not too sure of it.
 Chew, chew, chew :)
Looking at me like "What this be mom?"
No more, no more…I'd prefer my thumb ;)
She thought it was a fun time!

Until next time…

Taylor's 6 Month Checkup!

Taylor had her 6 month checkup today!  It went great!  She weighed in at 17 lbs 7 oz (80th percentile) and was 27 1/4 inches long (90th percentile).  So she is still a big girl.  The doctor was pleased with everything he saw.  Poor thing had to get her shots, but like her and Bryant both have always done, she cried while getting them and stopped immediately once I picked her up.  It was a very positive checkup. :)   Other than Taylor's doctor appointment, this week we played at the park with friends, and that's about it!  However this past weekend was a really fun weekend.  We were in Opelika for one of my best and oldest friend's wedding!  It was an absolutely beautiful wedding.  We had so much fun celebrating with the new Mr. & Mrs..  I have known Natalie since we were born…as we were in the hospital nursery together. ;)  But seriously, we have been friends since we were like 5…we were even so awesome that around the age of 9 we collected Lion King together.  Haha!  Ahh…the good times. :)  Anyway, it was so great to be a part of her big day and to see her so happy.  I guess that's all for this week, below are a few pictures.

27 Weeks Old
Pretty excited about his new hot wheel car from Target.
Even football players have to sleep sometime.
It's funny because Bryant hated this jumpy thing, but Taylor absolutely LOVES it!!
 Cutie. Pie.
This pretty girl loves her thumb! (And no, she is not officially sitting up by herself…she only does it for a few seconds.)
Playing with toys together.  Bryant loved it when I got out all of his old toys out for Taylor!
Me and Nat!

Until next time…

My Baby Girl is 6 MONTHS OLD!

I really can't believe I am writing this post.  How in the world is my precious baby girl already 1/2 a year old!  Where have the past 6 months gone?  For those who know me, you know I can be extremely sappy when it comes to my kids.  However, I am going to try to refrain this time!  Instead I will simply talk about all the fun stuff Taylor is doing right now.  Let's see…  Her favorite thing to do right now is to stand up in your lap.  I just hold her hands and she stands up on me and smiles and talks to me.  It is pretty much the best thing ever. ;)  She also enjoys rolling across rooms on the floor (which she's been doing for several months), turning herself in circles on the floor, bouncing, chewing on everything, and toys that light up.  She tries to get my phone every time it is in my hand, but I learned my lesson with Bryant not to let her play with it!  She is also pretty laid back…just like Bryant was.  When she gets really excited she starts bouncing her head and legs and sometimes headbutts the ground.  It's quite funny…although she doesn't think it is!  Although she seems interested in crawling, she has only gotten up on all fours a handful of times, and has not attempted to rock on all fours yet.  She is still solely surviving on breastmilk, although now that she's 6 months old I'm sure I'll be introducing solids sometime soon.  She is still an amazing napper during the day, but does not sleep through the night.  Although this makes for one tired mommy, if I'm completely honest, I don't mind seeing her in the middle of the night.  I remember Bryant didn't sleep through the night until he was one, and when he finally did I actually missed those nighttime moments with him.  Oh how quickly they grow up. ;(  It makes me cry thinking about how truly blessed I am to have these wonderful kids in my life.  I thank God so much for giving me the opportunity to be their mommy.  It truly is the BEST!!!  Below are several pictures I picked out showing Taylor's first 6 months of life.  Enjoy! :)
