Taylor turns ONE and Breaks her leg!!

Our sweet baby girl turned one year old this past Thursday.  I am still having trouble believing it.  I mean, where in the world did this past year go??  Anyway, we are having her actual birthday party this Saturday, but we did celebrate with dinner and cupcakes on her birthday.  And Emily and Luke & Ella came over to celebrate with us.  I also took her out to eat for a birthday lunch while Bryant was at preschool.  It was really exciting too because the morning of her birthday Taylor decided to start walking.  She would pull herself onto the fireplace and stand herself up from there.  Then she would just take lots of steps.  The most steps she took before falling was probably about 8 or 9.  It was so cute!!  Unfortunately, on the afternoon of her birthday she decided to try her hand at climbing the stairs for the first time.  She got up to the 4th step when Bryant saw her and told me.  Sadly, she fell down the stairs before I got her down.  Even more sad is that she not only busted her lip, but she also hurt her right leg.  So no more walking for her, and she actually couldn't even stand up anymore.  She was putting no pressure on it whatsoever.  We waited a few days to see if it was just bruised really bad or something, but it did not get any better.  So we ended up at the Children's After Hours Clinic with her on Sunday afternoon.  After having X-Rays done the verdict was in, our poor baby girl has a broken leg. :(  We were sent to Children's Hospital ER to have a cast put on.  It was pretty pitiful.  She had to have a light sedative and pain med, and then they casted it.  In spite of the the pain med, she screamed in pain the entire time they molded the cast trying to get the bones back straightened.  It was awful.  She will have to have a cast for 4-6 weeks. I'll give her this, she definitely made her first birthday even more memorable than it already was going to be by starting walking and then breaking her leg!  Other than that we had Olivia's (my friend Courtney's little girl that was born the same day as Taylor) 1st birthday party on Saturday.  It was lots of fun!  And then Josh and I went to a friend's wedding on Saturday night.  So at least it wasn't a completely horrible weekend! ;)  Below are some pictures.

Birthday Lunch with my baby girl!
Bryant was helping me make the cupcakes.
Sweet Taylor wanted to help too!
I made too much icing, so obviously we had to eat some of it! ;)
She is a mess!! (and this was obviously before the broken leg ;) )

 Turning 1 is so exhuasting!
Y'all!!  Seriously…she is so cute.  She loves putting this orange thing on her head.
Getting excited about her cupcake!
Watching daddy sing her Happy Birthday.
 Tasting slowly...
Unlike her brother, she liked it!
 Yum, yum!

Luke was excited about his too!
I think…just maybe…Ella was done posing for my pics! ;P
Bryant mainly liked the icing part.
Taylor and Olivia cruising in Olivia's new ride at her birthday party.
Bryant did such a good job pulling them.
See what I mean about the orange thing… It's so funny!
Waiting on our X-ray results at the After Hours Clinic.
 Still being mischievous...
Waiting at the ER to get her cast.  She is not excited about it.
Sweet girl got her some pain med and light sedative.
 And the cast is on!
 The orange thing…again!
Tough baby girl isn't gonna let a broken leg and cast slow her down!

Until next time…

Play Dates and Dinners!

We have really had a fun week!!  Lots of time spent with great friends!  Last Wednesday we were going to go to the zoo with some friends, but it had been taken over by field trips and was soooo packed.  So, we decided to skip that and went downtown to Railroad Park instead.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and the kids had fun playing on the playground and just running around in the open field.  On Thursday night I got together with my friend Natalie for a while.  We'd been trying to get together for what seems like forever, so it was so much fun to hang out and catch up!  Then on Friday we had a play date with my MOPS group at the Petting Zoo at Oak Mountain State Park.  Bryant absolutely LOVED all of the animals!!  He is just like me when I was a child. :)  Once again it was a beautiful day and we had a great time.  Then on Saturday night we had some friends come over to cook out at our house.  And then on Sunday night we went out to lunch with some friends after church, and then went over to some friends house for dinner and just to hang out.  So like I said, LOTS of great time spent with friends!!  Josh and I are so blessed to have so many amazing friends in our lives!  Below are lots of pictures from the week. :)

One of her favorite things to do now is climb onto the fireplace. :/  It is not my favorite.
Such a handsome little boy!

He made it to the top! ;)

They're all running out their energy!!

Bryant had so much fun playing this disc toss game with Mr. Matt.  He was already talking about going back over to Matt & Hillary's on the way home. :)
