McWane Science Center Trip!

On Monday Bryant and I went to the McWane Science Center in Birmingham for the first time.  One of the things I asked Josh's mom for for Christmas was an annual family membership to there.  Well…the membership cards already came in the mail, so I figured why not go ahead and use it!  Thanks Jama!  Bryant had an absolute BLAST!!  There is so much to do there, and he was just going, going the whole trip.  He had a great time in the "Under kindergarden age" area.  He played with sand, played with water, climbed in tunnels, and played with puzzles and blocks!  He also had a lot of fun with the Clifford exhibit they have right now.  In it is a doghouse filled with crayons to draw with.  He really enjoyed that!  We also checked out the train exhibit and rode the train, played in the snow in the Winter Wonderland exhibit, and looked at the fish in the Water World area.  All in all it was a great, fun, educational day!  With our new membership I know we will be going back all the time!  Since this was his first visit I of course took tons of pictures to remember it by.  See below.

 Playing with the sand.
SO excited about the water toys!
Decided I better cover him up in order not to have a soaking wet child.
We spent the most time at this spot! :)
 Puzzles and blocks galore!
 And he's off!
 That's a big puppy dog.
 Coloring…one of his favorite things.
 He loves numbers.
Man…not even 2 years old and he's already getting put in the doghouse by some girl!
 Trains :)

 He had so much fun!

DII Football National Championship!!

We had a really fun weekend.  We went to the Division II National Championship game!  Josh's alma mater, Valdosta State University, where he played football and was a student assistant on the football staff, was playing in it.  The championship game is held in Florence, AL.  I thought that was a really strange location, but it worked out great for us because that is only about 2 hours away.  We ended up driving up there Friday evening and staying at a Holiday Inn Express.  We then went early Saturday, like 8:00 am, to the campus to start tailgating with everyone.  Lots of guys Josh played football with were there.  The game started at 12:00 pm, and the result, VSU creamed them.  It was an awesome time with friends and an awesome game!!   And Bryant had a blast at his first National Championship game.  It was funny because at the game Bryant kept walking up the aisle pointing at the numbers on the bleachers.  1, 2, 3, etc…  He would try and move complete strangers out of his way so he could see their seat number.  Luckily everyone just thought he was super cute! ;)  One more thing I have to add, I really do have a rockstar kid.  He tailgated for 4 hours and then sat in a stadium for 4 hours, and ask me if he fussed once….NOPE!  We truly are so lucky and blessed.  Below are lots of pictures from the fun day.

Getting ready for the players to arrive.  This was our actual tailgate spot…it was AWESOME!

He really liked the police horses.
He enjoyed tailgating…especially the food part! Like mommy like son! ;)

His seat of choice a lot of the day!
 Go VSU Blazers!
He was not too sure about Blaze...
Beatdown!!

Until next time…

A Baby Girl!

As most all of you know, we found out last Thursday that we are going to be having a little girl!  Although Josh and I were both thinking we would like another boy, we are so thrilled that our baby is healthy!  And we are both adjusting to the idea of having a girl.  I know it is going to be great!!  And hey, at least for the first year or so it should be very similar to having a boy. :)  Below is a sweet profile picture of her from the ultrasound.

You can see her cute little nose, and that is her hand on top of her face.

Besides that news, there's not much else going on.  Bryant went to Opelika last weekend to stay with my parents.  I think they all had a lot of fun!  Josh and I had his work party on Friday night.  We didn't get home until 11:30 pm, and I was exhausted.  When did we become such losers…. ;)  Then Saturday Josh went and played a little golf while I got some shopping done.  We had plans to go to a really nice restaurant on Saturday night (we had a gift card and everything), but I was pooped and voted to stay home in my pj's and be lazy.  It was fabulous, and we still got to hang out!  This week so far has had no excitement to it.  Just living the same ole' day to day.  Because Bryant was out of town this weekend, and I have been really slacking this week, I don't have many new pictures of the kiddo.  I do have a few that I took specifically so I would have something to share on the blog!  So here yall go!

Silly boy wearing my sunglasses!  ( And yes, the poor child has yet another bump and scrape on his head, but in by defense he actually got this one while at Jojo and Pops!)

He was trying to hide my shoes under the bed.
And then he wanted to wear my shoes!  He fell pretty much immediately.

Until next time…

Fun Christmas Events!

We have had a great week.  Bryant has been able to participate in two different Christmas events.  Last Friday we went to Tales for Tots at the Arc of Shelby County.  A friend from MOPS works there part time and told us about it.  It was lots of fun.  There were lots of toys to play with, several different tables set up to make different crafts, a story time, and Santa!!  Bryant had a blast!  He made a couple of crafts, played with toys, and met Santa.  He was not a very big fan of Santa…in fact he kinda had a death grip on me while I sat him in Santa's lap.  However, although he wouldn't smile, at least he didn't cry!  Oh, and one table had sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles for the kids to make their own cookies.  I decided to let Bryant do it and figured I could just eat his cookie. ;)  Well, one taste of that icing on his hands and he wanted to eat it.  So..for the first time…I actually let him eat 1/2 of the cookie.  He LOVED it!  He kept going back to the sugar cookie craft table and pulling himself up into the chair, as though if he sat there long enough someone would give him another cookie to decorate!  Ha!  Below are a few pictures.

As you can see, he is ready to get down asap!
 Playing with toys!
Shaking his bell while we sing "Jingle Bells"
 SUGAR!!!!
His present for seeing Santa, and two crafts he (we) made.  The red part of the candy cane is his fingerprint, and he helped pour the glitter on the initial ornament.

The other Christmas event was on Monday at his preschool.  They had Breakfast with Santa.  It was fun!  Bryant ate a little bit, but of course he mainly just wanted to run around like a wild man.  I once again made him sit in Santa's lap.  And once again, he was not too happy about it.  Oh well!  Below are some pictures.

 Breakfast!
 They boy loves his grapes!
He was making sure I saw the Christmas tree.
At least he wasn't the only kid who couldn't sit still.
 Wild man!!
 Mommy and Bryant
 Unimpressed with Santa once again...
He did get a toy for seeing Santa.  He picked out the elf!  He was trying to share him with me.

Also, we went over to our friends house last week to fingerpaint a Christmas tree.  It was the first time Bryant had painted anything with me, and he wasn't a big fan.  However, I do think his handprint Christmas tree turned out super cute!  All in all it was fun!

The tree is made out of his handprint, and the ornaments are made out of his thumbprint!

Well…that's all for now.  Oh, and you can probably see that I was able to post pictures in my blogpost again.  I could not get it fixed, so we broke down and are going to pay the monthly fee (It's only $2.49) for now…  But I'm still going to try to figure out what the deal is!  I find it unbelievably frustrating that they make it so hard to find a "help" number, and no one knows how to help you.  All I know is that Google is RACKING UP on some money from all the bloggers who broke down and are paying monthly for extra storage that they probably don't even need.  Anyway, that's all I will say about that!

Until next time…

Thanksgiving in Bainbridge!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I know we did!  This was the first time in 10 years that Josh didn't have to actually work on Thanksgiving.  Being a football coach means you never get to actually go anywhere on Thanksgiving.  We have been so blessed the past several years that my parents and sister/brother-in-law have come up to Birmingham to spend Thanksgiving with us.  This year, since we could actually go somewhere, we went to Bainbridge.  We were there Wednesday evening thru Sunday afternoon.  It was fun to get to hang out and relax with lots of family.  Bryant had a blast too!  He loved getting to see everyone, a.k.a. the attention he got, but there was one person in particular he had the most fun with: Brody.  One of Josh's cousins has a 3 1/2 year old little boy named Brody, and they were there.  Bryant had so much fun playing with him.  They were super cute to watch.  It was nice because they really did keep each other entertained, and therefore I actually got to spend some time with the adults too!  All in all it was a great holiday!  Below are tons of pictures from our trip.

Well…as you can see there are no pictures.  I am SO sorry.  I actually wrote this post the beginning of this week, but blogger has been a pain all week.  They are telling me that Picasa, which is apparently where they store all photos I upload on the blog, has reached it's maximum 1 GB free storage.  Therefore I would have to pay a monthly fee to get more storage.  However, when I click on it it shows my storage as being at 16%. After researching, I found out that LOTS of other bloggers have gotten this notice in the past 2 weeks, including a couple of friends I asked who blog.  Therefore something is screwy, and I am not paying for a blog that is suppose to be free.  Therefore I am going to try to figure out something else to do…  In the meantime I have uploaded the pictures from Thanksgiving that I was going to put on the blog onto Facebook.  They are in an album titled "Thanksgiving in Bainbridge".  Hopefully most of you are friends with me and will be able to see them.  They are super cute!!!

Well, I hope to have this issue resolved soon, but until then…

Feeling better and back to crazy!

We are feeling so much better at our household this week.  Praise the Lord!!  And what comes with feeling better…a crazy, energetic 21 month old!  It's so nice to see Bryant acting 100% like himself.  I feel like lately I've updated on us and what we've been up to, but not as much so on what Bryant is like now-a-days, so here goes!  Bryant's favorite things right now include golf, football, puzzles, trains, coloring, Sampson, and Team Umizoomi!  He still plays with his golf clubs all the time, and of course any toy he has that is shaped like a ball…or even if it's not…is fair game to hit.  He really does have amazing hand-eye coordination.  He is also obsessed with his footballs.  He has 3 different ones, all different sizes, and he likes to throw them all.  He also likes to tackle you if you have it…hmmm…what has Josh been teaching him. :)  Another thing that has really gotten his interest lately is puzzles.  He has one puzzle in particular that is a sports puzzle that he loves.  He dumps out the pieces, and then names each sport as he puts the pieces back in their spots.  It's super cute.  Also, as is typical of most little boys, he has become big on trains.  You can actually hear trains from our house, and I never much noticed them, but now I do.  Every time he hears them he stops whatever he is doing and listens.  Then he says "choo choo".  So I have now realized that we actually can hear trains a lot throughout the day.  He also enjoys coloring a lot.  Although, if I'm honest, I think he really likes to just flip through the coloring books and push the crayons around.  However, he does color some.  Another obsession…Sampson.  Our poor dog.  Life would be so much easier for him if he just decided to like Bryant, but he doesn't.  And Bryant adores him.  He chases him all over the house, and wants to always be petting him and messing with him.  And if Sam disappears or gets somewhere out of Bryant's reach, Bryant gets so upset and sadly walks around the house saying, "puppy dog, puppy dog, puppy dog".  It's quite pitiful.  The last obsession for Bryant right now is the cartoon Team Umizoomi.  He LOVES it!!  He really is not interested in watching any other cartoons, he only wants Team Umizoomi.  Which, being the nerd I am, I actually really like it too because it is a math cartoon.  They deal with shapes and numbers and patterns.  It really is educational…who knows, maybe Bryant will follow in his mommy's financial footsteps!  Besides all of these things Bryant is talking up a storm now.  I still don't understand a lot of what he is saying, but it's getting better.  He now will even put some short sentences together.  The way he talks is just so cute…and I'm not bias. :)  Well, I think this post is long enough, so I'll hush now.  Below are a few pictures of the kiddo!  Also, I included a video that was taken probably a month or so ago.  It shows how smart Bryant is. :)  He's known the body parts for a while, but it's just been the past couple of months that he loves doing the animal sounds.  Mine and Josh's favorites are when he does the donkey (heehaw) and monkey.  Unfortunately, those two just became popular about 3 weeks ago, so they aren't on the video.

 Cutest breakfast date ever!
So sweet…always trying to share his slobber covered food. ;)
Playing with his dump truck
Watching my reaction as he knocks over his dump truck

Josh's friend "Fish" (that's what he calls him) came to see us and stay with us last night.  He brought Bryant a hat.  Bryant really likes it!!
He put it back on this morning…how cute is he!!

Until next time…
