Trip to Opelika!

The kids and I spent this past Friday thru Tuesday in Opelika at my parents house.  The original reason for going down was to attend a wedding on Saturday.  Unfortunately Josh ended up being pretty sick all weekend with a nasty virus (I don't think it was what Taylor had because there was a very different symptom. ;) ).  He started feeling bad on Thursday, and didn't really start felling better until Monday.  But although we didn't go to the wedding, and Josh didn't come down at all, we still had a great time!  Saturday was my mom's 60th Birthday, so we got to celebrate that with her!  And we just got to hang out with her and dad a ton.  We also got to see Uncle Jon (Josh's brother) and his fiancee Rachel for an hour or two on Saturday.  They were in town for the wedding we were suppose to go to, so they came over to see the kiddos for a little bit.  It was great to see them too!  The only negative of the trip was that poor Bryant had a sore on his tongue.  Apparently he bit his tongue sometime last week, and instead of healing naturally, the spot got angry!  It ended up getting really bad and started to get infected.  Poor baby could not eat anything without crying, and therefore lived off of a little yogurt in the morning, and ice cream for dinner for almost 3 days.  I had to take him to the doctor down in Opelika since it was looking infected.  She prescribed an antibiotic for him and I am happy to say it is doing much better!  So Crazy!?!  I'm hoping my family will stay all well for a while. :)  Below are some pictures.  I was going to include a picture of Bryant's poor tongue, but then I looked at it again and realized how gross it was…so you're welcome, I did not include it. ;)

Sweet boy singing Happy Birthday to Jojo!
Pops is probably explaining to Taylor that he would give her cake, but mommy won't let him. ;)
He tried to eat some cake...
Playing golf with Uncle Jon.  Bryant wanted to be outside playing golf 24/7.
 He is so cute!
 Bedtime fun with Pops.
Because Bryant wanted to be outside playing golf, I just decided Taylor could eat on the front porch!
 She enjoyed watching Bryant.
Taylor felt the need to always help Jojo on her computer.
Park Time!!  We went to the park every day we were there.  It's so fun being able to walk to a park.

 Exhausted girl.

She was smiling HUGE for her Pops.  She sure does love him.

Trying to get them to slide together.  Bryant was yelling CHEESE and Taylor was skeptical.

My dad…such a big kid! :)

Until next time…

Birthdays, Doctors, and more!

We've had a somewhat fun week!  This past Saturday one of Bryant's best friends, Evelyn, turned three.  So Bryant and I went to her birthday party and had lots of fun!  That afternoon Josh took Bryant to play golf.  And a little later that afternoon I ended up at the Pediatric After Hours Clinic with Taylor. We had a scary time with her this past week.  She woke up Saturday morning and couldn't crawl anymore.  It was almost like she didn't know how.  She would just sit and cry if she wanted you.  The on call nurse wanted us to be seen by a doctor that day, so we went.  Physical tests, Hip Xrays, and Bloodwork all pointed to it just being a virus in her joints causing so much pain she couldn't crawl.  We went home and that night Taylor ended up with a 103.5 fever.  She continued running a high fever Sunday and not crawling.  She started crawling a little on Monday, but with her left foot and pulling her right knee…and only a little.  So we had to go back to the pediatrician on Monday, but ended up with the same results.  It had a fancy name, but of course I don't remember it.  By yesterday her fever had been gone for over 24 hours, and she started crawling normally again.  Praise The Lord!!  I of course was terrified it was something bad, so I am so glad she is all better. :)  Other than that we went to the park with some friends on Wednesday and that's about it!  Below are lots of pics.

 Singing "Happy Birthday!"
 The Birthday Girl!
 Pinata!
Poor Taygirl had to have blood drawn from her arm. :(
He said, "Look mommy, I'm daddy!" :)

She was watching Bryant play basketball and clapping for him.  So sweet!
 She is a mess.
 Loves golf!!
Still looking at where his ball was. :)

 Park time with friends!

We had a minivan picnic because it was cold and windy at the park. :)

Until next time…

Uneventful Week!

Okay, I am sorry it has been a week and a half since my last post.  I really do try to post at least once a week. However, there has just not been anything too exciting going on.  No special events or adventures to share about.  We have just done our regular play dates and hanging out.  Sweet Bryant is continuing to do a great job being potty-trained.  He is also spending pretty much as much time as possible outside.  I love when it starts getting a little warm, but all of the annoying bugs and mosquitoes aren't here yet.  We LOVE our backyard this time of year!  As for Taylor, she enjoys the outdoors too.  A few new things with her… First, she is now only crawling on all fours.  She had started crawling on all fours awhile ago, but continued to go down into the army crawl to go fast.  However, now she has gotten fast enough on all fours that she never does the army crawl anymore.  She is also not eating pureed food anymore.  I think I mentioned in the last post how she only wants to feed herself now, so that's what I'm letting her do!  I do feed her yogurt and her oatmeal, but other than that it's all bite-size food for us now!  Below are lots of pictures from our week. :)

She's such a cutie!
Do you think she enjoyed her food?  ;)
He said, "Mommy, take a picture of me drinking my milk."
Hiding from me under the pillows. :)
One of my cute lunch dates!
 My other cute lunch date!
 Watermelon everywhere…sticky, sticky hair!!
 She's a mess.
 I guess I don't feed her enough… ;)
 He still loves his puppy.
She walked with this once, and has refused to do it again!
 I can't tell…is she asleep yet??
 My girl!
I gave Bryant a mini donut…she was jealous and wondered where hers was.
